Probably:)
PHOTOS. We WANT your old, and new, family photos. Simply make a copy and email it too us along with a description of who when and where. For example: Jack (Otto) Wiesneth, unknown helper, Mr. Pankinon (man who hired Otto when he first arrived in Louisville, Nebr. in the late 1920's) and
taught him the well drilling and plumbing trades, which he did till retirement in 1975 when health issue occurred. Last in line is John
Wiesneth, the brother just a couple years older than Otto who joined Otto in this work (in the early 1930's)
and learned the well drilling and plumbing trades also. John stayed in Cass County, Nebr. for several years, met Ellen Addyman and they were
married in early 1940's and they moved to California and John worked in the ship yards during WWII. They stayed in California the rest of his life.
Send us the HIGHEST resolution possible. It's easy to down size but next to impossible to scale up. You can use your cell phone (if it's relatively recent). Use a single light source such as soft diffused window light. Be mindful of shadows you might be casting. Hold your camera/phone as parallel to the image as you can. If it's behind glass it's a bit trickier. Glass will reflect everything in it's surrounding.
Might you have a family heirloom? Photograph it and send the image, description and story about it.
For example: this fedora belong to my Grandpa, Otto (Jack) Wiesneth-the 13th child. Submitted by Sheila Addleman
In the book of The American Wiesneth's we'd love to build a biography section. Please include the basics: name, birth date, photo, your family, what you do for a living, etc. We'd also love stories & memories.
Did I mention we want copies of your old photos. Our goal here is to be able to share the images and spark conversations. For example this is: 2nd Lt. Robert P. Wiesneth in his T 38 Talan Trainer. US Air Force.
Robert was in Vietnam October, 1968-September 11, 1969 when his plane was shot down and all 5 on board were killed
Just 2 weeks before he was scheduled to return home to his wife, Donna, and 7 1/2 month old daughter, Valerie.
He was 27 years and 2 days old when this happened. He has been missed every day since.
We want to see your treasures. SHARE THEM with us ALL.
